By Bus
Buses are the most frequent way to hit the Northern Beaches.
The B-Line bus service is a fleet of modern yellow double decker buses which provide frequent and reliable services between Mona Vale and Wynyard. They provide on-board comfort, in-seat USB chargers and priority seating for people with accessibility needs.
There is no need to plan your trip on B-Line – it is a turn up and go service 7 days a week, running from 4.30am until 12.30am.
Catch the B-Line from the B-Line bus stops at Mona Vale, Narrabeen, Warriewood, Collaroy, Dee Why, Brookvale, Manly Vale, Spit Junction Mosman, Neutral Bay and Wynyard. New commuter carparks, plus others under construction are located close to these B-Line bus stops.
Connections run to neighbourhood areas and main train stations at Chatswood, North Sydney and the city as well as the ferry wharf at Manly and Palm Beach. See the many different bus routes and plan your trip with Transport NSW.
By Car
Travelling by car is your most flexible option and there are three main routes:
- From the City over Spit Bridge on Spit Road
- From Chatswood over Roseville Bridge on Warringah Road
- From St Ives on Mona Vale Road through natural bushland
By Water
City to Manly
Transport and a scenic tour in one – the Manly Ferry has been making the regular 30 minute trip across the harbour since 1855, day and night. Operating 7 days a week, this relaxing journey, with its impressive harbour and ocean views, is a must do for visitors. Check out the ferry timetable and information.
Surrounding Sydney Suburbs: Rose Bay, Watsons Bay, North Sydney or Pyrmont Bay

Church Point Ferry Service
Church Point Ferry Service operates 7 days a week, including public holidays, from Church Point to secluded bays around Pittwater. The service is an essential part for the community.
Palm Beach to the Central Coast
Palm Beach Ferries have services that run from Palm Beach to Ettalong and also to The Basin (camp ground). Timetables, fares and maps of these services are available from Palm Beach Ferries.
Water Taxis
Pink Water Taxis operate from Church Point in Pittwater. They are used extensively for commuting between Church Point and Scotland Island and the Western Foreshores. However they are routinely used for transport over the whole of Pittwater, Cowan Creek, The Hawkesbury River and The Central Coast. Other Water Taxis also operate in this area.
