This erect shrub grows up to 3m high.

It has attractive glossy leaves, with tiny yellow-green flowers and purplish fruit.

It tolerates most soil types and grows best in part shade.

Flowers and seeds attract birds, butterflies and other insects.

Fruit is used by Aboriginal people to relieve toothache and fever.
