It is a shrub to 3m high with fibrous, flaky bark. The many white flowers form spikes to 6cm long, on a furry stem. Flowers appear in summer but seed production appears to be small and consequently the species exhibits a limited capacity to regenerate. 

They mostly occur on ridgetop woodland.

Listed as Vulnerable in both New South Wales and nationally.
