Known as the caretakers of Manly, the Manly Environment Centre (MEC) promotes sustainable living practices through practical projects. The MEC is an advocacy, research, education and resource centre.

Find out how you can get involved, you may even have an environmental project you’d like the MEC to take on.

Manly Environment Centre is temporarily located on Level 2 of Manly Library.

MEC experts

On various days, specialist staff will be at the Manly Environment Centre to answer your questions relating to their area of expertise.

  • Sue Jacobs, Senior Environment Officer – Catchment
    Sue has a Bachelor of Science Degree in natural resource management and has worked for Council for over 15 years. Sue can talk with you about our waterways and lagoons, as well as other general aspects of our natural environment and how we manage it.
