Northern Beaches Council is celebrating Bike Week 2019 from Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 September by giving away a range of cycling accessories, including bike bells, back-pack covers, slap bands and bike-repair kits.

Council is hosting three separate Bike Week 2019 pop-up stalls positioned along newly-completed sections of the Northern Beaches’ spectacular 36 kilometre Coast Walk at:

  • Mona Vale Beach (Saturday 21 September, 10am - 12 noon)
  • Walter Gors Park, Dee Why Parade, (Sunday 22 September, 10am - 12 noon)
  • Newport Beach, Newport (Saturday 28 September, 10am - 12 noon)

Mayor Michael Regan said specialist staff will be on hand to talk about cycling across the Northern Beaches and sections of the Coast Walk.

“So, come along to any of Council’s Bike Week 2019 pop-up venues, enjoy the views from some of Sydney’s most beautiful vantage points and have some fun, too.

“Riding a bicycle has many obvious benefits for our health and our hip pockets with much lower transport costs, lower environmental impacts and it also helps reduce traffic and parking congestion on the Northern Beaches.

“Council is keen to share with you news about the great work that has been completed and also what else we have planned to inspire our community to choose cycling as a transport option.”
